'Farm Bureau Insurance agents are involved in their local communities all across the state. Michigan isn't just a market for us, it is our home," said Vic Verchereau, Farm Bureau Insurance vice president of Marketing. "We firmly believe in supporting safe and clean learning environments for our youth. We are honored to partner with Palace Entertainment and the Detroit Pistons to provide South East Michigan with a program designed to do just that."

To date, the Pistons renovated 28 facilities into Live, Learn, and Play Centers at schools, shelters, and hospitals in Michigan. As a part of the renovation, the Pistons commission new paint, carpet, furniture, technology, and add themed graphics and decorations.

"We all perform better when we feel good about our surroundings and we know there are schools out there that need the help," said Dennis Mannion, Palace Sports & Entertainment CEO and president. "This is a fantastic contest and the Pistons are pleased to work with Farm Bureau Insurance to give students in Michigan a chance to improve their schools and be in an environment that makes them feel more productive."

The winning school will be announced in July and renovated during the summer. The newly renovated library or gymnasium will be unveiled during a special ribbon-cutting ceremony when school is back in session in September.
