Woman swipes luxury SUV from Dearborn Heights dealer

Wes Financial Auto owner says woman distracted sales staff before fleeing in SUV

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – As you watch video from a Dearborn Heights car dealership, keep your eyes on the woman at the center of the screen.

She arrived at the dealership on foot, but she rolled out in a luxury vehicle and never looked back.

"She goes, 'Ah ... I'm here to see the Range Rover,' I go, 'Which one?' She says, 'The silver one.' And I'm like, 'OK' ... she says, 'Thanks babe,' and walks out," said owner, Wes Issa.

At Wes Financial Auto there is absolutely no test drives unless three pieces of ID are shown up front. It was busy there on Tuesday night and Issa says the woman was going from one sales person to another, trying to distract them, and it worked.

"The other sales guy handed her the key thinking that I already took the license from her and her IDs," said Issa.

The problem is she left nothing behind, and once she had the key she was out the door and riding away in what is now a stolen luxury SUV.

"I don't know what they're doing with these vehicles. Chopping them, selling them for parts. I don't know what's going on. I mean, whatever it is, it's hurting us," said Issa.

Police are investigating. Authorities haven't put out a reward for information leading to an arrest, but Issa is.

"I will put up a $3,000 cash reward if somebody would turn this lady in or even find the truck for us. I will put a $3,000 cash reward on that," said Issa.

This is the second time in two weeks that someone has stolen a car from an independent dealership. The first incident happened in southwest Detroit.

"Stuff like this that happens and it ruins it for everyone, honestly ... it's crazy. It's a crazy world," said Issa.
