Michigan's Military Public fundraiser Saturday

DETROIT – The third annual Michigan's Military Public fundraiser for military families takes place Saturday, July 14.

The event is being held by the Michigan chapter of National Defense Industrial Association and will include a charity ride, classic car show and free concert from music legend John Parr.

It runs from noon to 6 p.m. at the Kensington Metropark in Detroit.

Military families get a major financial boost from the event, which raises money for USA Cares.

The event has quickly become a major event for USA Cares, a national nonprofit that pays essential bills for the nation's military and their families, especially when disability claims are backlogged or when they seek long-term, in-hospital treatment for stress anxiety and post traumatic stress.

USA Cares has already given $250,000 in grants to Michigan military members. The money has helped save 85 military owned homes and has kept 700 Michigan children from becoming homeless.
