MidMichigan Health, University of Michigan Health systems sign agreement to collaborate
Systems will align clinical services, doctors
The Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan Health System and the Midland-based MidMichigan Health have signed a collaboration agreement first announced last summer.
The two systems said in August 2012 that they planned to align their clinical services and doctors.
MidMichigan Health serves a 14-county region with medical centers, health parks, nursing homes, urgent care, home care and hospice, physicians and other medical practitioners. It has medical centers in Midland, Alma, Gladwin and Clare.
The agreement signed June 21 gives the University of Michigan Health System what it says is "a small minority equity interest" in MidMichigan Health and two seats on its 17-member board of directors.
