The victim exited the highway at Carpenter Road and turned right, but the man kept following. When the victim pulled into a driveway, the man followed closely behind.

At that point, the man, who police are calling a stabbing suspect, exited his vehicle and approached the victim's Chevrolet Tahoe. The victim exited his SUV and a confrontation between him and the other driver began. According to police, the suspect began punching the victim in his side and abdomen. A passenger in the victim's car, also a man in his early 20s, saw the fight, got out of the SUV and began punching the suspect in his face to try to get him away from the victim.

That's when the suspect backed away and pulled out a pocket knife. He asked the passenger if he "wanted some of this," police say.

Both the victim and his passenger ran back to the SUV and fled the area. While driving away, the driver noticed a small puncture wound in his abdominal area. They called for help and the driver was treated before he was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said there was no evidence of intoxication on either or their parts.

The suspect fled in his vehicle north on Dexter Street and was last seen near the US-23 overpass.
