Beginning on Labor Day, Michigan workers will see an increase in minimum wage.
The rate will jump from $7.40 to $8.15 an hour.
According to a new law, the minimum wage in Michigan will gradually increase by 25 percent until 2018.
In 2018, the minimum wage will be at $9.25 per hour.
Several groups pushed to vote for the minimum wage to be raised to $10.10 per hour but they failed to receive enough signatures.
This minimum wage increase is the first for Michigan in six years.
