Missing Springfield Township woman last seen in Detroit

24-year-old Alexys Henbury has not been heard from since Saturday evening

DETROIT – The last time Tracy Henbury says she saw her 24-year-old daughter, Alexys Henbury, everything seemed fine.

"She was going to work and she was going to go pick up my grandson and that was pretty much it," Tracy Henbury said. "She said she would talk to me later. She said she had school, she had a paper to do and she'd be home the next day."

Alexys never picked up her nephew, never showed up for school and didn't report for work.

According to Oakland County Sherriff Mike Bouchard, the last time anyone heard from her was Saturday evening during a phone call.

"She was on the phone with someone else and then suddenly, she was disconnected under circumstances that we find troubling at best," Bouchard said.

Alexys was supposed to have dinner with a male friend Saturday night. When she didn't show up, the friend called and another man took the phone from Alexys and said her phone's battery was dying.

Family members said Alexys was last seen at a liquor store at the corner of Lindwood and Taylor Streets on Detroit's west side.

"She could be anywhere," Bouchard said. "The circumstances are very troubling. It sounds not good. And we want to find her as soon as possible."

"I would say to my daughter, 'please come home,'" Henbury said. "And if anybody has her, I mean, there's no reason to have her. I mean she's a good person, she's never hurt anybody in her life."

She was last heard from at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. She indicated she was in the area of Philadelphia and Linwood Streets in Detroit, the Sheriff's Office said.

She is described as a white woman standing about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was driving a white, four-door 2015 Ford Focus with Michigan license plate DHE-0978.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Oakland County Sheriff's Emergency Operations Center at 248-858-4911.
