Money made from sale of middle finger sculpture to go to charity

Sculpture once stood in backyard of Orchard Lake home

ORCHARD LAKE, Mich. – A sculpture in the form of a middle finger that once stirred controversy in the backyard of a home in Orchard Lake has been sold for charity.

Local 4 has learned the bronze sculpture went for $5,000 on eBay over the weekend. The money will go to Heart 2 Hart, a Detroit-based charity that provides food, clothing and other services to the homeless.

The sculpture made news last year when a picture of it was put on social media after being erected toward a neighboring home.

In a statement to Local 4, the owner explained, "I am expressing my displeasure with this guy who was involved with my wife while we were married."
