A judge has ruled the mother of a 3-month-old baby who died in December will stand trial for her son's death.

Kelli Worth-McBride was found competent for a trial on Monday.

Watch: Parents charged in death of 3-month-old Westland boy.

Father Josh Wilson and McBride were both charged after 3-month-old Joshua Jr. was found beaten and bruised in the couple's Westland home in December.

Police say the infant was bruised from head to toe with several broken bones. Investigators say Joshua died from blunt force trauma to his chest.

Wilson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 27-60 years in prison while girlfriend McBride was sent for a competency exam.

Family members have said both parents suffer from mental issues and that Child Protective Services had been involved with the family since Joshua's birth.

McBride's pretrial is scheduled for August 23 at 9 a.m.
