Mother, teen daughter arrested in Dearborn Sears for suspected shoplifting

Pair accused of shoplifting at Dearborn store

DEARBORN, Mich. – Police arrested a mother and her 16-year-old daughter for suspected shoplifting on April 15 at the Dearborn Sears.

The pair is accused of trying to steal more than $100 worth of merchandise. Investigators report security cameras captured the woman and teen bringing several items of clothing into a fitting room.

When they left the fitting rooms, they did not have the clothing in their arms. They apparently had large shopping bags with them. 

Store security approached the women and searched their bags. 

The officers said they found several items of clothing without tags. 

Tags matching those items were reportedly found in a fitting room.

They face several charges, including retail fraud.
