MSP trooper's car hit twice in Detroit Saturday morning

DETROIT – A Michigan State trooper's car was hit twice on highways in Detroit Saturday morning.

At 7 a.m., the trooper was slowing down on the ramp from I-75 westbound I-94 to help a car that was blocking the lane. A 23-year-old driver from Harper Woods couldn't stop his 2004 Dodge four-door in time and hit the patrol car, causing the Dodge to spin out of control and hit a 2014 Dodge Avenger.

There were no injuries in this incident.

At 10:20 a.m., the same trooper was policing a crash on northbound M-39 near I-96 while his car sat on the right shoulder with the emergency lights on. A 27-year-old driver from Detroit lost control of a 2009 Dodge and spun out, hitting the front of the patrol car.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
