LANSING, Mich. - Natura Pet Products is voluntarily recalling several brands of dry pet food due to the risk of salmonella contamination.
The Michigan Department of Agriculture discovered a single retail location that tested positive for the presence of salmonella, and prompted the recall.
The affected products include the brands Innova, EVO, California Natural and Healthwise. The products were made within a two-week window in December 2012.
The pet food was distributed between Dec. 18, 2012 and March 15, 2013. Product expiration dates range between Dec. 17, 2013 and Jan. 2, 2014. The food was sold worldwide and online.
Natura Pet Products says no salmonella-related illnesses have been reported at this time.
If you have any of these products, you are advised to throw them away immediately.
