Detroit woman accused of stuffing stolen clothes from Troy store in stroller

Troy Police said they arrested a Detroit woman with stroller after finding $816 in stolen baby clothes

A Detroit woman has been arrested on accusations she used children and a stroller to steal more than $800 in merchandise at a Carters store in Troy.

Troy police said a couple walked into the Carters store at 819 East Big Beaver with two children and a stroller on Saturday night.

The woman, identified as Charisse Leval Williams, was seen placing clothing in the stroller before leaving the store.

Troy police said an employee went up to the couple outside of the store and both Williams and the man told the employee to "leave it alone."

While the Carters employee called Troy police, the couple left the area.   Officers did find the suspect's vehicle and stopped it.  Officers said they found 65 items of clothing valued at $816.10.

Williams, 35, was charged with retail fraud first degree and her bond was set at $25,000.   She was arraigned in 52-4 District Court by Judge William Bolle.
