DETROIT - A new bridge to Canada could be closer to happening.
Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder is expected to announce Friday that the U.S. State Department has approved a permit for the bridge – which is one of the last steps required before construction can begin.
Snyder won't confirm the information until his press conference.
If the permit is indeed approved, the only other roadblock is a federal lawsuit filed by Ambassador Bridge owner Matty Moroun.
