New map shows red light deaths across U.S.

Metro Detroit has nearly 200

Every year, millions of American drivers run red lights, killing hundreds and leaving more than 100,000 injured.

On Wednesday, the National Coalition for Safer Roads released a new analysis of the latest government data, including an interactive map that shows where more than 7,799 people lost their lives.

The metro Detroit area has several intersections that make the list with one or more deaths.  There are nearly 200 deaths in the area linked to running red lights.
