ROMULUS, Mich. -

Seven new stores are opening in Concourse A of McNamara Terminal at Detroit Metro Airport.

Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Tom Naughton says the retail program is an important source of revenue that keeps the airport running and self-sustaining.

The stores include a health spa, a Detroit themed memorabilia outlet as well as an upscale jewelry store.

Twenty-nine additional venues are expected to open by next spring. Some of the new stores will be located in Concourse B.

More than 32 million passengers traveled through Detroit Metro Airport during 2012.
