When officers pulled the vehicle over, the driver struck a construction barrel, according to police.

Police said Gardner admitted that he had four beers and that he had a pistol in the car, which he has a permit to carry. A loaded .40-caliber pistol was in the car, according to authorities.

Gardner was placed under arrest and a Breathalyzer test was administered at the station. The results showed a blood alcohol level of 0.23 percent, according to police.
