2 arrested, others ticketed in school fight in Dearborn
School administrators at Dearborn's Edsel Ford High School say 4 students ticketed, 2 arrested in school fight
Police arrested two students from Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn after a fight inside school.
School administrators said the fight broke out Friday afternoon, around lunchtime, near the cafeteria.
Several students at the school said the fight was racially motivated between African-American students and Arab students. Police said they don't believe that was the case, but could not say what sparked the fight.
"I heard that it was a fight in the courtyard and then it went into the classrooms. There were a bunch of kids fighting, different kinds. People said it was a race war," said Hassan Bazzi, a Junior at the school.
Police were able to break up the fight quickly, but some students suffered minor injuries.
Students believed that tensions among those who fought were high following a fight over the weekend at a party.
A full police investigation is underway into the incident. The school also is conducting its own investigation.
