2-year-old Howell girl dies following house fire

Police: Girl suffered burns on nearly all parts of her body

HOWELL, Mich. – A 2-year-old Howell girl has died following an early morning house fire.

Chief Andy Pless, of the Howell Area Fire Department, said the 1:30 a.m. fire destroyed her family's home in Fairlawn Estates Mobile Home Park.

The young girl suffered burns on nearly all of her body, and is at University of Michigan Hosiptal, Pless said. Her condition is unknown.

Two adults and another child may have experienced smoke inhalation, according to Pless.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to knock down the fire. They remain on scene to investigate.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
