1 found dead in chair following fire at Frenchtown Place senior citizens apartments in Monroe area
Authorities say a resident of a senior citizens apartment complex in southeast Michigan has been found dead following a fire on the seventh floor of the building.
The Monroe Evening News reports the person was found in a chair of an apartment of the Frenchtown Place in the Monroe area, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.
The person's name wasn't immediately released.
Residents were evacuated, but most remained inside in the building lobby as firefighters responded and quickly put out the fire Tuesday morning.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
