FLINT, Mich. -

Travelers at Flint's Bishop International Airport will see the results of a $16.8 million expansion.

The Flint Journal reports a dedication is Tuesday.

The construction project included a larger Transportation Security Administration area that opened in October.

The project also added 47,000 square feet of terminal space and four gates.

It doubled the width of a corridor linking two sections of the airport.

Federal funding paid for about $7 million and the airport used reserve funds to pay for the rest.

The expansion increases the airport's passenger capacity.
