Capac councilman charged with sexual assault of young girl
Gregory Cyprian VanNeste facing criminal sexual assault, weapon charges for incident involving girl under 16 years old

A Village of Capac councilman has been charged with sexually assaulting an underage girl.
Michigan State Police led the investigation into 43-year-old Gregory Cyprian VanNeste.
He is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, third-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, felonious assault and felony firearm.
Details of the investigation weren’t released, but police said it involved a girl under the age of 16.
His bail was set at $750,000. He was being held in the St. Clair County Jail.
