Crime Stoppers offering reward in transgender man's murder
Norman Williams found dead April 3 on Parkhurt in Detroit
Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $2,500 reward to the person who helps police catch the killer of a 35-year-old man.
Norman Williams was the victim. His family describes Williams as a transgendered woman.
Williams was shot dead in or near a car on April 3 on Parkhurst near Woodward in Detroit, an area known for cross-dressing prostitutes.
Shots were fired and a person sped off in a car. Williams was seen in a torn shirt asking for help before he died.
The gunman hasn't been found.
Williams’ family is reaching out to Local 4. They want the community to know about the reward and that police need help catching the killer, but they also want people to know that Williams was much more than the person known as “Coco” on the streets.
Williams’ family says he was helping raise nieces and nephews and he loved to cook for his family.
Anyone with information about the shooting of Williams is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
