NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Both directions of 8 Mile Road are closed just east of Napier Road due to a deadly vehicle crash along the Novi and Northville Township border.

Northville Township police say two people were killed in the crash which happened on 8 Mile Road at Sports Park Drive. A Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling westbound on 8 Mile Road crossed the center line and struck a blue Mercury traveling eastbound.

The head-on collision killed both drivers.

Northville Township police and firefighters along with police from Novi were at the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.

Both directions of 8 Mile Road are expected to be closed for several hours, police said.
