Detroit police: 2 wounded, attempted armed robbery suspect dead in Detroit restaurant shooting

Police say two men are wounded and an attempted armed robbery suspect is dead following an exchange of gunfire at a Detroit restaurant.

The shooting happened Wednesday night at a Coney Island restaurant on the city's southwest side.

Police say two armed men entered the restaurant and announced a robbery. Police say a 51-year-old man at the restaurant opened fire, killing a 29-year-old suspect. The suspect also fired shots before being killed, and the 51-year-old was wounded along with a 46-year-old man at the restaurant.

The wounded men are listed in stable condition. Police on Thursday are searching for the second suspect, who fled. They're seeking tips from the public in the case.
