DETROIT – Brian Robinson Jr. was an all-star athlete at Covenant House Academy in Detroit.
The 16-year-old was a young man with a bright and promising future.
"He was very athletic. A loving, gentle kid," said his father, Brian Robinson Sr.
His pastor, Kenneth Tate, said he saw a lot of potential in Brian Jr.
The young athlete was looking forward to his senior year. However, on July 20 his dream of playing college basketball was shattered. Police say Brian was at a friend's house on Mansfield Street near 8 Mile Road when he was shot and killed. There is no sign of a motive, and no trace of the killer. The teen's family is left with a lot of questions.
"We know he was in a home," said Yachai Close, an aunt. "Could have been approximately four to five other people. No one is saying anything."
Family members say Brian was college-bound. He wanted to study engineering. Now, they are left with only the memories of his infectious smile.
