Man faces charges in death of Michigan State University student

Marquez Dominique Cannon accused in death of freshman Olivia Pryor

DETROIT – An 18-year-old has been charged with the death of a Michigan State University student who was found dead in dorm earlier this year.

Marquez Dominique Cannon was arraigned Friday on one count of criminal sexual conduct injury to an incapacitated victim, one count of selling or furnishing to a minor causing death and a count of criminal sexual conduct force or coercion.

He stands accused of contributing to the death of Olivia Pryor, who was found dead in South Hubbard Hall on March 19.

Police had said her death was alcohol-related and – during the course of an investigation into how she got alcohol- discovered the allegations of sexual assault.

Cannon, an Eastpointe resident, is being held without bond in the Ingham County Jail.

Pryor was a freshman journalism student.
