Court records say he also pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Judge Mary Chrzanowski also said Brooks must register as a sex offender and may not have any contact with the victim or her family.

If he is released from prison Brooks will be placed on a lifetime electronic monitoring device.

The girl gave birth Aug. 9, 2011, at a Macomb County hospital.

DNA confirmed that Brooks was the father after an investigation by police.

Police said Brooks was in a relationship with the girl's mother and had lived with them.

Brooks previously worked as a janitor at a Mt. Clemens school.
