DETROIT -

Skelton brothers Tanya Zuvers, formerly Tanya Skelton, wants answers and she knows her ex-husband, John Skelton, is the only person who really knows what happened to the couple's three young sons.

Now, for the first time since he was sentenced for child imprisonment, Zuvers plans to visit Skelton in prison in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He is being held at the Alger Correctional Facility in Munising.

"I have questions for him. For my personal healing," Zuvers said. "I'm still not 100 percent sure what I want to say to him but I will ... I'm working on it."

The Skelton brothers vanished in 2010. Zuvers had dropped them off at their father's Morenci home where they were to stay for Thanksgiving weekend. They were never seen by their mother again.

John Skelton claimed he gave the boys to someone to protect them from their mother. Police believe the father killed his children.

Zuvers believes her children are alive.

"I still believe they're alive," she said. "We'll just have to find the right person, and I say all the time and people are like, 'That's all she says.' But that's our key. Someone somewhere knows the truth, besides John Skelton."

Tanya Zuvers Morenci Police Chief Larry Weeks released the following a statement on Tuesday:

"The investigation remains active. As of this date, we have received approximately 1,300 tips. However, the position of the investigative task force remains the same. The facts of this case lead us to believe John Skelton murdered his sons and likely disposed of them Nov. 26, 2010."
