The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was hurt Sunday while trying to wrangle a combative 16-year-old.
In an incident report, the office said deputies went to Aaron Perry Park on East Rundell Street on the report of gang members with guns. When they arrived, the suspects attempted to flee, the office said.
Four people were taken into custody, but the 16-year-old kicked one of the deputies in the knee several times.
The office said a Taser had to be used on the teen.
The deputy wasn’t seriously hurt but has been treated and released from a hospital. He’ll be off for a few days, the office said.
The 16-year-old is facing resisting and obstructing charges. A 38-year-old man, 25-year-old man and 21-year-old man were all cited for disorderly person.
No guns were found, the office said.
