Pontiac boy, 3, recovering after shooting self
Oakland County Sheriff's Office says boy found father's Glock in bedroom
A 3-year-old Pontiac boy is recovering after accidentally shooting himself with a handgun, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.
In a statement about the incident, the office said the boy found his father’s 40-caliber Glock in a bedroom Thursday afternoon.
The boy is expected to be OK and is at Children’s Hospital in Detroit.
Deputies said the boy’s father told them he usually keeps the bedroom door locked but was moving things out of the room and forgot to lock it. The father does have a valid concealed pistol license, the office said.
