Bullet fragments Wixom

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard told Local 4 a task force involving agencies such as, the Michigan State Police, Wixom police, sheriff's departments and the ATF is working the cases -- which isn't believed to involve a sniper.

“The word sniper kind of makes people think of somebody that is extremely skilled, typically uses a rifle for long distances. This is none of that. Thankfully, no one’s been hit, injured or killed,” Bouchard said. “This seems to be more random, all indications is that it’s a handgun. This appears to be a host of different random circumstances and it appears to involve something less than a sniper-kind of skill set and a sniper weapon.”

Bouchard said not all of the victims have reported seeing where the gunfire came from, but there have been similar descriptions of a black or dark colored sporty sedan driven by a white male in his 30s.

A sketch has been released from one of the incidents in Ingham County.

Walled Lake Consolidated Schools officials say students at schools in Wixom are having indoor recess, and schools' doors are locked on Monday. They're not sure how long the precautionary measures will remain in effect.
