Search continues for Westland teens last seen in Detroit

Police have 2 in custody for stolen stereo from missing Westland teen's car

DETROIT – Detroit police were getting a warrant late Wednesday night to enter the apartment building near where Jacob Kudla's white Chevy Cavalier was found.

Kudla, 18, and his friend, 17-year-old Jordan Bobbish, have been missing since Sunday evening. The two went to visit a relative of Kudla's on Detroit's east side and were on their way back to Westland when they simply vanished, family members say.

The Cavalier has been found abandoned on Detroit's west side. Police have taken two men into custody for having stereo equipment from the car but so far no sign of either teen.

While police worked on the warrant, Kudla's father, Bernie Kudla, and his uncle, John Baxter, showed up in the neighborhood looking for the boys.

"Jacob, Jacob," called out Bernie Kudla. "I just want my kid back. He's the only kid I have. Why would anyone take them? Why?"

A $25,000 reward is being offered. Anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Bureau at 313-596-5240. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAKUP.
