North Star Reach partnered with Art Van Furniture for 'Giving Tuesday' which is Dec. 1 2015.

Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back to the community.

With the partnership, Art Van PureSleep will donate a mattress for every $150 raised by the community. The goal of the fundraising campaign is to help set up the camp with 120 bunk beds and 240 mattresses.

"As we prepare to embark on campfires and sleepovers, we are so grateful to Art Van Furniture for their generosity as we collaborate to make a difference in thousands of children's lives," said Doug Armstrong, CEO, North Star Reach. "Art Van's support during Giving Tuesday will not only help make our camp a reality, but the mattresses donated will also provide a true sense of home and comfort for our campers."

North Star Reach will be a 105-acre, state-of-the-art, barrier-free camp for children with chronic and life-threatening health challenges.   There is no charge to children and their families to attend the camp in Pinckney.

"We are fully committed to the communities we serve and the incredible organizations that positively impact them," said Art Van Elslander, founder and chairman of Art Van Furniture. "We look forward to the opportunity to enhance North Star Reach's life-changing camp experience for children and their families."

North Star Reach, a nonprofit, serves 1,500 children each year, including those with cancer, heart disease, organ transplants, sickle cell disease and other conditions.
