A worker digging a trench line for a drainage pipe fell into the trench Friday morning on Beck Road just south of 9 Mile.
The 48-year old man was in the six-to-seven-foot deep trench when dirt collapsed and fell on top of the man the hole.
Fellow workers removed the fallen dirt from the man before help arrived. When an emergency crew got to the trench, the man was removed in 10-15 minutes. He was breathing and has no life-threatening injuries or trauma.
The man was taken to Botsford Hospital for treatment.
