PONTIAC, Mich. - The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says a child playing with matches is what started a fire Monday in an apartment in Pontiac.

No one was hurt in the fire, which broke out in the 600 block of Newman Lane, just north of University Drive.

Firefighters at the scene said the flames had started in a bedroom and spread to the attic.

Three apartment units were damaged.
