Ohio Gov. John Kasich spoke in Southfield after entering presidential race

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Ohio Gov. John Kasich introduced himself to Metro Detroit Saturday.

Kasich announced his candidacy for president this week and stopped in Southfield to share his vision for the future of the country.

Kasich spoke about drug use, immigration and the economy.

When asked about bringing jobs back to Detroit neighborhoods, Kasich said that "education systems need to be fixed."

Kasich isn't polling enough to take part in the GOP debate in Cleveland in August but his campaign says he'll keep plugging away and hopes to be there.
