Oil spills into Detroit River near Mud Island

U.S. Coast Guard says oil came from U.S. Steel

DETROIT – The U.S. Coast Guard says between 10 and 20 gallons of oil have spilled into the Detroit River near Mud Island.

The oil, which created a sheen across the water Tuesday, came from settling ponds at U.S. Steel.
