Tyrone Delany, 26, was shot multiple times on Snowden Street after getting into an argument with the mother of his children over custody.

The shooting happened Wednesday at about 1:45 p.m.

"She was threatening to kill my brother," said Delany's sister, Tanyisha Black. "I told her to relax."

Delany's other sister, Tameka Black, shielded her son and Delany's children from the gunfire.

"I was standing right behind him when he was getting shot," Tameka Black said.

It is alleged that Solomon reached into her purse and gave Maxwell a handgun.

Delaney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police make arrests

Victoria Solomon was taken into custody Wednesday. Police were looking for Montez Maxwell in connection with the shooting after he fled the scene on foot.

Maxwell later turned himself into the police.

Police said Maxwell is the new boyfriend of the Solomon.

Both are expected to be arraigned Friday.
