TALLAHASSEE – Students in a school district in Florida almost had the chance to opt out of the Pledge of Allegiance.
A form allowing students in the Leon County district  sparked a major outcry on social media, prompting the district to can the idea.

A viral Facebook post from Micah Brienne shows the form in which he wrote on it "This is the dumbest thing I have ever read and I am so ashamed of this."
The district said the form was meant to meet a state law that was passed earlier this year.
