ROMULUS, Mich. – Deonte Ritchey and Renesha Chandler will be able to tell their newborn daughter a story about the day she was born.
Renesha said it started at about 3 a.m. Thursday.
"I didn't know I was going into labor. I just thought I was having cramps," Chandler said.
But Chandler wanted to get to the hospital, so her mother drove her and Renesha's boyfriend, Deonte Ritchey.
Renesha said her mother was not wasting any time behind the wheel.
"The only thing I said was don't flip the car. I think she was going 110 miles per hour," Chandler.
Because of that speed, a Dearborn police officer stopped the car, but when he saw what was going on, he told the driver he would escort them to Oakwood Hospital.
The only problem was, the baby was ready to arrive. Fifty yards down the highway, Deonte Ritchey helped his daughter into the world.
"She was halfway out and I started helping her out, like she could barely do it anymore," Ritchey said,.
Baby Adore, her mother and father are all doing well after their adventure on the side of the road.
