Pediatrician accused in boy's abuse sentenced to 6 years in prison

Dr. Jeffrey Dembs pleads no contest to charges

DETROIT – A Novi pediatrician who pleaded no contest to abusing a young boy will spend at least six years in prison.

Dr. Jeffrey Dembs, who worked at the My Kid's Doc office, allegedly had inappropriate contact with the boy, who was under the age of 13 at the time, in his West Bloomfield home.

Dembs and the boy's family were friends and often socialized together.

According to a report by police, the boy said he was fondled by Dembs and had encounters of oral sex with him. The inappropriate contact went on for more than two years.

Dembs has pleaded no contest to three charges of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration. A no contest is not an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing.
