Pitch for Detroit holds kickball tournament to raise money for park

DETROIT – Pitch for Detroit 2015 is celebrating its sixth year of engaging young adults to give back to the city by raising funds for the North End's Bradby Park through a charity kickball tournament on Belle Isle on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Over 800 people are expected to attend the annual event. Pitch for Detroit has raised more than $230,000 for projects in the city over the past five years.

Bradby Park serves the North End's 30,000 residents and has the potential to be a great contributor to safer neighborhoods, healthier children and a more engaged community.

The free, fun-filled day will feature a Family Fun Zone and is open to people of all ages who want to grab a hot dog, listen to music, watch a great game, and enjoy the Belle. Geared for the next generation of Jewish Detroiters, NextGen Detroit helps native Detroiters and newcomers find meaning and build relationships in all facets of life, from professional and religious to cultural and communal.
