Pittsfield police release picture of cigarette thief

K-9 fails to track thief who broke into store on Washtenaw Avenue

PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Pittsfield Township police have released a surveillance picture of a man they said stole cigarettes from a store early Monday morning.

Police said the alarm for the store, which is in the 4000 block of Washtenaw Avenue, went off just after 1:30 a.m.

Officers who showed up at the scene discovered the break-in and the missing cigarettes.

A K-9 was brought in to search for the thief, but nothing turned up.
