BELDING, Mich. -

Authorities on Tuesday said the cause of death a 10-year-old boy who had been missing for three days and whose body was found Monday afternoon in the Flat River was accidental drowning.

Devon Morrison, of Belding, was last seen Saturday as he headed for the Flat River with a fishing pole.

His body was found by divers searching the river.

The FBI and state police had been aiding the search, which was about 25 miles northeast of Grand Rapids. Authorities had been searching the river with boats and helicopters.

Devon was a fifth-grader at Woodview Elementary School.

Police said Devon would regularly fish alone at the river, which is about 700 feet from his home.
