Sean Patrick arrested, arraigned on Dearborn mosque thefts

DEARBORN, Mich. – Dearborn police have arrested the man they believe responsible for ripping off worshipers at a mosque located on Vernor.

Sean Patrick was arrested after several people called police identifying in him in surveillance video. Patrick was arrested without incident and arraigned on charges of larceny. He'll be back in court December 5 at 9 a.m.

Police allege Patrick entered the mosque during prayer service and removed personal items from a storage shelf. The two latest incidents occurred on Oct.17 and Oct. 24.

After his arrest Dearborn Chief of Police Ronald Haddad said, "This is another great example of the community stepping up to help the police department.  Citizens taking ownership in the prevention and reduction of crime is the first step in keeping our city safe."
