DETROIT -

An accident at Gratiot Avenue and McClellan on Detroit's east side has been ruled fatal by Detroit Police.

The crash happened just after 6am Sunday. Detroit Police sources tell Local 4 the unidentifiable car crashed into the Suburban head on at the intersection. The impact so great, the female driver of the unidentifiable car was ejected and the vehicle cut in half.

Police say the driver of the Suburban will be fine. The intersection is currently close for an investigation.  Police sources believe icy roads was a cause, but are also investigating whether alcohol was a factor.
