CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Clinton Township police say a man attempted to rob the Fifth Third Bank at 18 Mile and Hayes roads on Wednesday, a year after he first robbed the place.

An employee recognized William Jearls when he approached a teller window as the man who robbed the bank on Aug. 24, 2012. The employee hit the hold-up alarm and police arrived to arrest Jearls.

The 41-year-old Sterling Heights man was wearing the same construction vest, wig and makeup that he wore a year earlier. He was carrying a starter pistol, police say.

Jearls is charged with bank robbery and attempted bank robbery. He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon.
