Police raid doctor's home after finding apparent human tissue in his car trunk

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – It started with a car accident in late September. A 75-year-old physician hit a 32-year-old man walking along 14 Mile Road. At this point, it's unclear who is at fault in the accident.

But West Bloomfield police impounded the physician's car and obtained a search warrant. It's what they found in the trunk that led to a warrant being executed at this doctor's home.

Authorities rolled up to the doctor's condo on Pine Lake Tuesday armed with a search warrant. The doctor hasn't been arrested or charged with a crime, but drugs and what appear to be jars of human tissue, potentially fetal tissue, were found in his trunk.

Those strange findings had West Bloomfield Police consult with the State Attorney General's office as well as the D.E.A. All three agencies served a warrant at the physicians home in West Bloomfield Township on Tuesday night.

Police are trying to determine if the drugs found in the car would be something typical with his practice and whether they were contained in an appropriate manner. But so far, no good explanation on the items in his trunk has emerged.

The doctor is an OBGYN whose practice also offers a laser and aesthetics treatments.

So far, there's been no explanation as to what those jars of human tissue were doing in his trunk. We reached out to the physician on Tuesday night, but haven't heard back.
