Police search for man who robbed Charter One Bank in Waterford

Waterford police need help identifying suspect caught on tape during bank robbery

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are looking for the man who robbed the Charter One Bank located on Highland Road in Waterford Township.

Bank employees told police a man entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding cash from the drawer.

The teller gave the man money which the suspect shoved into the sleeve of his coat before running out of the bank.

The man got into a vehicle described as a late 90s GMC or Chevy cab pickup that was either silver or tan in color.

Police say as the suspect left the bank parking lot the bank's dye pack exploded inside his vehicle.

Witnesses report seeing a red plume coming from the driver's side window as the pickup fled into a nearby subdivision.
The man is described as in his 40's, and approximately six feet tall.

He was wearing a faux leather University of Michigan jacket and a Green Bay Packers hat.
